• Request and obtain a complete copy of your child’s education records


• Establish your concerns regarding your child’s special educational needs


• Inform you about special education rights, special education law and relevant educational issues


• Objectively examine your child’s educational program


• Identify alternative options, including, if appropriate, additional evaluations


• Assist you in obtaining the most appropriate educational program for your child pursuant to federal law


• Help you participate as an informed member of the PPT team


• Accompany you to PPT meetings


• Prepare and accompany you to mediation hearings, if necessary


• Assist you in the follow up with the school concerning the proper implementation of and success of your child’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP), if requested by parent
